"Water is leaking under my kitchen sink."
Contact, service address, reported issue, urgency and requested timing captured on the call.
Your on-call staff receive the summary and decide what happens next.
The operational problem
The phone rings hardest at the moments nobody can pick it up.
Plumbing demand does not arrive on a schedule, and the people best able to answer are usually the people holding a wrench.
- 01
Technicians cannot always answer while driving between jobs or working on site.
- 02
Office staff may already be occupied with another customer, a supplier or a job that is in progress.
- 03
Emergency inquiries arrive after hours — evenings, weekends and holidays, when the office is closed.
- 04
A caller who cannot reach anyone may keep calling other providers until someone responds.
- 05
Slow follow-up can reduce the opportunity to book the work, even when the message was eventually received.
This page does not publish statistics about missed calls, conversion rates or plumbing revenue. The calculator further down uses only the numbers you enter yourself.

Interactive demonstration using sample data
Step through a single inbound plumbing call, from the moment it arrives to the structured handoff your team would receive. Every name, address and detail below is sample data created for this demonstration.
Stage 1 — Incoming call
- Caller name
- Sample customer
- Reported issue
- Water leaking beneath kitchen sink
- Urgency
- Active leak
- Location
- Sample Los Angeles ZIP code · 90015
- Requested timing
- As soon as possible
- Call arrived
- 7:42 PM — outside office hours
This is a sample record, not a real customer call. In a live configuration the assistant only answers the calls your forwarding rules send it.
Stage 2 — AI qualification
What the assistant did not do: it did not diagnose the leak, give repair or safety instructions, quote a price, or promise an arrival time. It identified itself as an AI assistant, asked the intake questions the business approved, and applied the business's escalation rule.
Stage 3 — Team handoff
- Customer contact
- Sample customer · callback number captured
- Service location
- Sample Los Angeles ZIP code · 90015
- Reported issue
- Water leaking beneath kitchen sink
- Urgency
- Active leak — escalation rule triggered
- Requested appointment
- As soon as possible · callback requested
- Transcript & recording
- Available as configurable options
Notification channels, recipients, transcript retention and recording availability are configured per company. Nothing above is sent anywhere from this page.
Stage 4 — Outcome
The customer's requested timing and callback details are on record.
The on-call recipient received the structured summary with the urgency flag.
The opportunity stays open with its follow-up requirement recorded until staff close it.
The company decides what happens next. Topher AI records the outcome and the follow-up requirement — it does not make the sales decision.
How it works
Four steps, configured around your existing call workflow.
Connect
Configure your existing number, forwarding rules, hours, services and escalation contacts.
Respond
The AI assistant answers approved missed, overflow or after-hours calls.
Qualify and route
It gathers the required information, determines urgency and books or requests human follow-up.
Measure
You review calls, outcomes, follow-up status and captured opportunities.
Configuration timelines depend on your telephone provider, your workflow and how much testing your team wants before launch. We confirm the plan with you rather than publishing a fixed integration time.
Core capabilities
What the system is designed to do on a plumbing call.
- Missed-call recovery
- Overflow call handling
- After-hours response
- Emergency-intake questionsApproved questions only — no diagnosis or safety advice.
- Appointment or callback requests
- Human escalation
- Structured call summaries
- Outcome tracking
- Configurable scripts and business rules

Human control
You decide what the assistant may say and do.
Topher AI is built to be the first response, not the decision maker. The boundaries below are part of the configuration, not a promise made after the fact.
Your company defines what the AI may say and do, including the questions it asks and the information it is allowed to share.
Urgent or uncertain situations can be escalated to the contacts and channels you nominate.
Staff can review call summaries and recorded outcomes.
The AI does not diagnose plumbing problems.
The AI does not promise prices or arrival times unless those rules are configured by your company.
Your staff handle exceptions, complex questions and sales decisions.
Opportunity calculator
Run your own numbers. We supply the arithmetic, you supply the inputs.
Every field is editable and every formula is shown. The defaults are deliberately conservative placeholders, not assumptions about your business.
Illustrative output
calls per month × percentage not answered live ÷ 100calls not answered live × recovery percentage ÷ 100opportunities potentially recovered × average booked-job valueThis calculator is an illustration based entirely on the values you enter. It is not a prediction or guarantee of calls, bookings, revenue or profit.

Who it is for
Built first for independent plumbing operators.
Independent plumbing companies
Owner-operated and small-team businesses where the phone competes with the work.
Local and regional operators
Single-location and multi-area companies serving defined service territories.
Emergency and same-day service
Companies offering emergency, same-day or after-hours response.
Phone-driven pipelines
Teams that rely heavily on inbound telephone opportunities rather than web forms alone.
Human oversight required
Businesses that want AI assistance while keeping people in control of decisions.
Is it a fit?
Final fit depends on your call volume, workflow, service area and integration requirements. That is what the demonstration call is for.
Implementation process
Nothing goes live until your team approves it.
- Workflow review
- Script and rule configuration
- Number-routing setup
- Test calls
- Staff approval
- Controlled launch
- Review and optimization
We do not publish a fixed launch time. The schedule depends on your telephone provider, your routing requirements and how much testing your team wants before a controlled launch.
Questions
Straight answers, including where the answer is "it depends on configuration."
Does Topher AI replace our staff?
No. It is designed to handle approved missed, overflow and after-hours calls and hand qualified opportunities to a person. Your staff handle exceptions, complex questions and sales decisions.
Can we keep our existing telephone number?
In most setups, yes — your existing number stays where it is and forwarding rules determine which calls reach the assistant. The exact routing is confirmed with you and your telephone provider during configuration.
What happens during an emergency call?
The assistant asks the intake questions your company has approved — for example whether water is actively leaking — records the answers, and applies your escalation rule so urgent calls reach the contacts you nominate. It does not diagnose the problem or give safety instructions.
Can calls be transferred to a human?
Call transfer and escalation can be part of the workflow depending on how your routing is configured. You define which situations reach a person, which contacts they reach, and what happens if nobody is available.
Can it request appointments?
It can capture an appointment request with the customer's preferred timing, and can book against an available slot where a supported scheduling connection has been configured. Where that connection does not exist, it creates a structured callback request instead.
Can we control what the AI says?
Yes. Scripts, approved information, qualification questions, escalation rules and the boundaries of what the assistant will and will not discuss are all configured by your company before launch.
Does it provide plumbing advice?
No. It does not diagnose plumbing problems and does not give repair or safety advice. It answers only the business information your company has approved and routes everything else to a person.
What does usage cost?
Calling and AI usage is billed separately or governed by an agreed allowance. Provider charges and the final allowance are confirmed with you before activation, so there is no usage surprise after launch.
Can it work after hours only?
Yes. Forwarding rules can send only after-hours calls to the assistant, or only calls that go unanswered during the day, or both. You choose which calls it is allowed to answer.
Can it support multiple service areas?
Multiple service areas can be configured, including different routing or escalation behaviour by area. The setup depends on how your company defines its territories and on-call coverage.
How is customer information handled?
Information collected on a call is used to produce the call summary and to run the workflows you have configured. Retention of transcripts and recordings is a configurable option, and our current practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
Is the broader customer-growth system included?
No. The growth modules described under "Beyond missed calls" are planned or separately scoped. They are not part of the $497 monthly Booked-Lead Recovery plan and are not presented as currently active.
